The Gealog Standard Enclosures are especially designed as enclosures for measuring stations used outdoor.
They are very rugged constructions and absolutely weatherproof. They come together with an (optional) solar radiation shield which prevents the internal electronic components against high temperatures due to excessive sun-radiation.
All internal modules are mounted onto a mounting plate made of galvanized steel. The mounting plate acts additionally as an equi-potential plane. All earthing is made via this groundplane and a special ground-bar. The internal cables are led into standard PVC conduits.
There are two possibilities for the cable entries. For wall mounting the cable entries are at the bottom of the enclosure. For mast mounted enclosures there is an option to have the cable entries on the backside of the enclosure. Therefore the cables can enter the enclosure directly out of the mast without the possibility of manipulation of the cables from outside of the enclosure. All cable entries are made using watertight (IP68) cable glands or optionally round pin connectors.
There is also enough place to install the station battery inside of the enclosure. We use sealed lead-batteries as station batteries. Nevertheless during charging escaping aggressive gases can on the long term influence the durability of the electronic. Therefore we recommend specially for higher battery capacities ( 27Ah+) the use of our external Gealog Battery Box.
If there is mains power supply available the enclosure can be equipped with a ventilated heater unit to prevent excessive low temperatures inside and also to reduce effects of humidity.
