Task
The control of discharges into rivers in the form of punctual control measurements is often not sufficient for comprehensive proof that all water law requirements for the operation of industrial plants are also complied with. Continuous monitoring with online data transmission is necessary. In that project, a paper mill was obliged to prove compliance with upper limits of various water parameters according to water laws.
Technical solution
A measuring station was set up on a floating platform by Logotronic. The power supply is provided by a solar panel. A complex multiparameter probe from our partner company Eureka was connected to the measuring station to measure the following parameters:
- Water temperature
- pH
- Conductivity
- Dissolved Oxygen (optical sensor)
- Ammonium
- Nitrate
- Turbidity
- CDOM - Colored dissolved organic matter
In addition, a spectrometer probe from the Vienna company s-can was used to measure the parameters:
- TOC value (Total Organic Carbon)
All optical sensors are automatically cleaned mechanically before each measurement.
The measuring station provides the data online via the mobile network. Maintenance personnel can also access the measuring station at any time via mobile radio. In addition to the above measured values, various diagnostic channels are also recorded and transmitted.
Advantages for the customer
- Complete proof of compliance with water law requirements.
