Groundwater temperature has a direct impact on the biological activity of plants and animals. Furthermore, it is an important parameter for the water quality as well as the chemical composition.
Water temperature is a key parameter affecting various physical, chemical and microbial processes. Especially the solubility of gases and the groundwater organisms show a sensitive dependence on the temperature in the water.

Durable stainless steel measuring probe

The probe is made of stainless steel and is waterproof up to 300m. The measuring point is placed close to the probe tip to minimize water displacement during the measuring process.
The temperature sensor is integrated in the tip of the probe and provides accurate measurement results from -20°C to 125°C. The probe as a whole acts as a heat sink, which is why it should be completely submerged in water for more accurate measurement results. The connection between the tape measure and the probe is designed for easy changeover to replace the probe one at a time should this become necessary.
